Delete your account & data

This page explains how to delete your data from the Messtro app (developer: Bitflecks), as required by Google Play.

Option 1 — In the app (recommended)

Open the app and go to More → Delete account. This deletes your account, profile, and notification tokens automatically:

  • If you belong to any mess, you'll be asked to resolve each one first — leave it (as a member), or transfer the manager role / delete the mess (as a manager). This keeps every mess's shared accounting consistent for the members who remain.
  • Once you have no mess memberships left, confirming the deletion removes your account and its data immediately — no waiting period, no email required.

Option 2 — Request deletion without the app

If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, send us a request from the email address of the Google account you use to sign in:

Request account deletion

Or email us directly at [email protected] with the subject “Account deletion request”. We'll verify the request comes from your account and process it, typically within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your account and profile information (name, email, and Google account identifier).
  • Your app notification tokens.
  • Personal records tied to you, subject to the note below about shared mess data.

What may be retained

  • Shared mess data. A mess is shared among its members. Records you contributed to a mess that other members still rely on (for their own balances) may remain in that mess unless the mess itself is deleted. To remove those, delete the mess (if you manage it) or ask the manager to remove your records.
  • Limited information we're required to keep for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons (for example, records of a completed payment), for only as long as necessary.
